Aloe divaricata

Common Name: “Mr. Toothy” Aloe
Description:

Aloe divaricata

“Mr. Toothy” Aloe

This is a BEAUTIFUL Aloe because of its brilliant red “teeth” at the margins of the purple tinted leaves. In fact, the sunlight often shines right through translucent “teeth” to light up the edges. Very few aloes are more interesting in form and color.  If this weren’t enough, large, light lacey “sprays” of crimson flowers are borne above the toothy leaves.  OK, this boy can get big, but it’s also easily controlled by simply pruning off excess, or too tall branches, and leaving nice young ones underneath- or just let it go! To 5’ tall, and as wide. Hardy to mid-20’s, and likes full sun.  Regular garden watering to quite dry.
