Iresine herbstii

Common Name: Blood Leaf

Iresine herbstii, commonly known as Blood Leaf. A very colorful shrub displaying brilliant red and hot pink colorations, kind of resembling poinsettia all over. Leaf coloration frequently varies as to sun or shade, or time of year. In the shade this unique plant is its most colorful. When planted in areas where there is more sunlight, you will still find it has red stems with some red leaves and some green leaves with pink veins, giving it a marbled appearance. This is a foliage color exclamation point in the landscape! Prune frequently to keep full and prevent floppy, leggy growth. Tender to frost. Regular water.
