Opuntia hyb. ‘Goldie Rita’

Beautiful, small, turquoise pads back light the jet-black spines of this low-growing, extremely hardy and durable little “Prickly Pear.” If that weren’t enough- absolutely covered with brilliant yellow flowers, with a deep red center- so many that they completely cover the plant. Now most Opuntias bloom in the spring and then they’re done. Not this golden Baby! It will re-bloom, and then re-bloom again. We’ve seen some flowers going right into September! Never taller than about a foot, and to about 2’ wide; full sun, hardy to low teens.
