A very special cultivar of this species, seed-sterile and more bold in growth habit and flowering. If purple is desired in the landscape, then this is your plant… the flowers are purple, the leaves are purple, and the stems are purple! Other cultivars can become very invasive, coming up from seed everywhere for many years, but this plant stays neatly in its area. It does spread by stolen, but than can be corralled by structure or edged by herbicide. To 3’ tall and 8’ wide, great on slopes. Freeze tender, but will come back up from mature stolons. Full sun to light shade. Regular waterings, but very heat tolerant, so good in desert communities as well.
